Ascocenda Princess Mikassa, ascocenda salaya sunset and a
vanda with apple green and cream flowers. I got them at raffles or
on sale. My environment is not good for them, but I attempt to keep them alive.
I got the vanda as a gift. It came from a large retailer (to remain unmaned).
The trailing roots had been jambed into a pot and bark poured over the top.
This had then been wrapped tightly in plastic and sat in a warehouse for who knows how long.
Two buds blasted and the other buds and blossoms had brown marks from condensation.
The day I got it, I took it out of the pot and discovered the worst. The roots were
almost gone. I put it into a basket with a little green moss in bright light and under a mister.
After two months all of the old roots have re-tipped and a new leaf has started.
The picture shows most of the old roots and some of the new roots.
