Sievekingia reichenbachiana is a cold to hot growing, found from Mexico to northern South America. It is both epiphytic and terestrial and is found from 1000 to 3000 meters. Stanhopea oculata has a 10 inch long pendulous inflorescense with 5 to 9 vanilla scented flowers. The slightly compressed looking dark green pseudobulbs carry a single dark green leaf.
